TT series double tube core barrels are super-thin walled barrels suitable for coring in medium and hard homogenous formations using water flush. Typically they are used for underground coring applications in mines.
The TT series corebarrels are available in two metric sizes 46 and 56 mm hole diameter.
Because the bits have a very thin cutting face, TT series barrels require relatively light feed pressure and torque. They cut effectively at high rotation speeds using lightweight diamond drills.
The core can be quickly removed from the core barrel as the inner tube can be instantly disconnected from the Head Assembly, via a snap-on coupling, with no need to unscrew the outer tube first.
The Inner Tube and Outer Tube are manufactured from cold drawn steel tube with a very high tensile strength and straightness. The Head Assembly is manufactured from heat-treated alloy steel to ensure long life.
As an option TT series core barrels can be used with clear plastic Coreliner tubes to form an inner, triple tube.This greatly facilitates core handling and improves presentation. When Coreliner tubes are used an undersized bit and corelifter are required.
