T2 Series

The T2 series core barrels are suitable for coring in all formation types. The barrel is designed to be used with core bits with a relatively thin kerf to maximize the rate of penetration. These barrels should be used with water or mud as the flushing medium. The T2 series are also available in DCDMA hole sizes B and N: these barrels are denoted TBW and TNW, respectively.

The T2 series core barrels are suitable for coring in all formation types. The barrel is designed to be used with core bits with a relatively thin kerf to maximize the rate of penetration. These barrels should be used with water or mud as the flushing medium. The T2 series are also available in DCDMA hole sizes B and N: these barrels are denoted TBW and TNW, respectively.
The corelifter case is a push fit directly onto the extension tube and it slides down to rest on the bit when the core is broken. Thus the entire load of the core is transferred to the outer tube. This design is especially advantageous when working with large or heavy cores to prevent overloading the bearings and therefore prolonging the life of the barrel.
The inner and outer tubes are manufactured to our own specification from cold drawn tube of a very high tensile strength and straightness. The head is manufactured from heat treated alloy steel to ensure a long life.
T2 barrels can also be used with plastic “Coreliner” tubes with an undersize bit and corelifter, to obtain an instantly “packaged” core.
